The Chennai based officer was laid to rest in the city a few days thereafter with full military honors and a 42 gun salute even as the entire nation paid respects to his sacrifice.
The late Major Mukund Varadarajan is survived by his wife Indhu Rebecca Varghese and their 3 year old daughter Arsheya. The Varadarajan household recently hosted a special visitor in Ilayathalapathy Vijay who paid a visit to offer his respects to the bereaved. In a photo made available to the media, Vijay is seen spending time with the toddler Arsheya.
