Bala’s Thara Thappattai finally begins

A perfectionist that he is, director Bala has taken a good long time for the pre production of his next movie, Thara Thappattai, starring Sasikumar and Varalakshmi in the lead.

The film is apparently based on Karagattam, a folk dance of Tamil Nadu and there’s a mystery around Sasikumar’s look in the film. Singer Pragathi, who shot to fame as a reality show participant, will play Sasikumar’s sister in the movie.

The film goes on floors on 14th July and a week’s schedule has been planned in Chennai. Following that the second set of shooting will happen in Tanjore, from 29th July. For the first time in his career, Bala will capture the movie in digital technology.

Maestro Ilayaraja will score for the project and Bala’s Paradesi team, consisting of cinematographer Chezhian, editor Kishore Te and costume designer Poornima have come on board too.
