Bala's Thaara Thappattai begins!

The shoot for Bala’s next movie, after his critically acclaimed Paradesi, Thaara Thappattai began today. The team began the proceedings with a formal pooja at a hotel in Guindy.

The event was attended by the lead artists – Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, actor Atharvaa, director Mysskin, director Sargunam, G.M.Kumar and many more esteemed guests.

The film is based on Karagattam, a folk dance of Tamil Nadu and would have Sasikumar sport an all-new look (though he was seen at the pooja with his trademark thick beard). Singer Pragathi, who shot to fame with a reality show, is playing an important role in the movie.

Maestro Ilayaraja will score for the project and Bala’s Paradesi team, consisting of cinematographer Chezhian, editor Kishore Te and costume designer Poornima have come on board too.
