  • Another honour for the legendary Santosh Sivan

The BFI (British Film Institute) masterclass is a long tradition where acclaimed masters of the film industry such as Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Peter Mullan, Gaspar Noe, Pawel Edelman, Alfonso Cuaron, Jacques Audiard, Clint Mansell etc have participated.

Essentially, it is an event where these masters discuss their life and career in the shape of an on-stage interview at the prestigious BFI National Film Theatre and share their experiences. The BFI records this for posterity and makes it available online later.

The London Indian Film Festival continued this tradition last year, in association with the BFI, with a masterclass by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

Legendary Indian cinematographer and director, Santosh Sivan will be the next in a series of Indian masters. He will leave for London on the 11th of July and will helm a masterclass, where he will be sharing his outlook towards cinema and his career experiences as a cinematographer and a film maker.

This is another honour for the great man who was recently bestowed with the Padma Shri title.
