  • Seeman thanks Lingusamy for withdrawing Inam from theatres

Lingusamy’s Thirrupathi Brothers were involved in the distribution of Inam directed by Santosh Sivan. The film talked about the troubles faced by Tamils in Sri Lanka.

After the release of the film, many Tamil outfits felt that the film had wrongly depicted the plight of Tamils and also alleged that it was against Tamils. They wanted a few scenes to be deleted which were also done.

Even then, there were protests against the film and Lingusamy not wanting to upset anyone came out and withdrew the film from theatres, despite facing loss.

Seeman from Naam Thamizhar group thanked Lingusamy for withdrawing Inam and stated that freedom of an ethnic tribe is more important than creative freedom and also cautioned creators to abstain from giving wrong information through their films.
