  • Tamil Actors Who Support Go Green Drive

Dr Norman Borlaug was the father of India's Green Revolution. He had once quoted, "Man seems to insist on ignoring the lessons available from history" with respect to how the present age human tend to neglect the consequences of ignoring nature and humanity.

Protecting environment is every citizen's right, but people hardly take it seriously. So, many NGOs rope in popular actors to promote go green acts and conduct eco-friendly drives to raise global awareness, in order to take positive environmental action. In Tamil, many popular names have stood for the cause.

Now, we bring you the names of the actors who are involved in the go green drives.

    Vivek

Vivek stands tall among the rest in Tamil as he actively involves in go green drives. He is a self-proclaimed environmentalist. The comedian is often seen promoting the drive by planting saplings.

    Vijay

Illayathalapathy Vijay makes time for go green drives. Last year, he was the Brand Ambassador of the World Environment Day. Youth Exnora International and US Consulate General organised a week campaign with the name 'V GO GREEN'. His star power ensured good response as 1000s of people from different walks of life participated in the event.

    Ajith Kumar

Many believe that Ajith Kumar is only passionate about films, bikes and cars. But many are not aware of his other side. The actor is an environmentalist, who supports the cause in his own terms. His parents have been members of Exnora International, an organisation that focuses on preserving nature and preventing environmental degradation.

When his fan clubs were active, the actor made it a point to ask the members to plant saplings all across the state and segregate garbage. At one point of time, he had proposed to plant at least 1 lakh saplings annually throughout Tamil Nadu.

    Vikram

Like other stars, Vikram participated in an event organised by Siruthuli Noyyal Life Centre. He had planted a sapling to mark the inauguration of the 'Green Corridor'.
