  • Jayam Ravi discloses why he feels close to the audience

    Smasana Kollai or Mayana Kollai is observed on the new moon day after Maha Shivarathri in Angalamman temples.

    The crew of Boologam consisting of hero Jayam Ravi, director Kalyana Krishnan and music composer Srikanth Deva visited the Angalamman temple in Royapuram, Chennai to witness the proceedings and feel the culture of the actual Mayana Kollai rituals.


    Boologam, a film based on boxing culture of North Chennai has got many interesting visuals and culture of Mayana Kollai. After witnessing the rituals, Ravi was overwhelmed and said that the experience was mindboggling.

    He added, “It gives me a great pride to enact this native culture in my film. Boologam is well connected to the masses and I feel very close to the audience when I do mass films like ' Boologam'.
