Aayirathil Oruvan, an important film in the career graph of the legendary M G Ramachandran was released in 1965.The film featured the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalitha as the heroine along with M N Nambiar, Nagesh, R S Manohar in supporting roles.
The songs scored by Viswanathan Ramamurthy still remain popular.
Now, thanks to technological advances, Aayirathil Oruvan has been digitized and is all set for a re-release this Friday, the 14th March 2014. It may also be recalled that such restored version of Sivaji Ganesan’s Karnan was released some time back which gave a solid competition to some of the current films. This trend perhaps must have prompted the makers to digitize the most popular film of the late M G R.
