A film’s success lies with Madurai audience too by Director Karthik Subbaraj

Karthik Subbaraj’s second film Jigarthanda is ready to hit the marquee soon. His film is much anticipated and features Siddharth, Lakshmi Menon, Karunakaran and many more.

While his first film Pizza was set in Chennai, Jigarthanda is set in Madurai and incidentally it is the name of a special drink of the temple town.

When Karthik was asked about the contribution of Madurai to Tamil cinema, he avers, “There are plenty of places available to shoot in Madurai but the technical facilities available there are yet to be on par with Chennai. But there are welcome signs of development and improvement”. Karthik Subbraj does not fail to add with pride that Madurai audiences also have a solid role in determining the success of a film.
