  • Updates of Netru indru

Netru Indru, a directorial venture of Padma Magan of Ammuvagiya Naan fame, releases this Friday, 20th June.

Starring Vemal, Richard, Prasanna, Arundati and Manochithra, the film is said to be an intense action thriller. Talking to Some TV Network, director Padma Magan said, “This is a work of fiction, but to make the film more realistic, we added a real life character, Veerappan. The film starts with the encounter of Veerappan and as the title suggests, the screenplay shuttles between the past and the present, with the encounter being the intersecting point of the two time periods.”

Vemal and Manochithra will lead the present section and Richard, Arundati and the rest will lead the past portions. The film will have a lot of suspense elements to hold the audiences to their seats, says the director.

“We have completely broken out of the regular template of Tamil cinema and have made a movie with no romance, no ‘kuthu’ song and no sentiments. This is probably the first film in the last 500 odd films to have no romance,” announced the director.

The team apparently struggled for over 65 days to shoot for the film in the dense forests around Achan Koil. The director also promises a lot of unseen locations in the movie.

About the ‘A’ certificate the director justifies, “For commercial value, we wanted heroines for the film. Once we got them on board, the glamour quotient went a bit out of hand. But the whole thing suited the story very well than we expected. So we decided not to compromise the film by taking a U certificate.”

    Runtime: 2 hours 10 minutes
    Censor Certificate: A
