  • Kaaviya Thalaivan makes a solid first impression

The periodic musical, Kaaviya Thalaivan had its first teaser released today and it has definitely increased the expectations with its rich South Indian vibes and music.

Written and directed by Vasanthabalan, the film is based on the stage artists of Madurai during the glorious days of musical plays in the early 20th century, before the movies took over.

The film stars Prithviraj and Siddharth in the lead along with Vedhika and Nassar and we’ve got ace cinematographer Nirav Shah for eye pleasing visuals.Of course the musical film is backed up by the musical genius of A.R Rahman. The Oscar winner even backed out of a Hollywood project to score for this film.

Rahman had to do six months of research on ragam and folk music before going on to score his 20 different musical pieces with varying lengths for the film. That sure is a lot of work even for the Maestro which tells us that the movie has got lot to offer.
