  • “Kochadaiiyaan was one of the toughest”, A.R.Rahman admits

Kochadaiiyaan, Indian’s first full-length film on motion capture technology starring Rajinikanth and directed by his daughter Soundarya is being welcomed with a rousing reception by the audience. The film has sure set the ball rolling for such pioneering attempts in India.

One of the highlights of the movie is very definitely A R Rahman’s music. The songs as well as the BGM have been appreciated by the public and critics alike.

Sharing about his experiences scoring for the film, A R Rahman says that it was one of the toughest (to score) in his career. He says, “Kochadaiiyaan was one of the toughest movies to score and mix for, due to the responsibility and role, music had in the narrative. Kudos to my whole team for coming through! We had to move forward on many sensibilities and step back for some others. We consciously stayed away from conventional massy numbers. With confidence in the script, we tried to stay true to dance numbers that were intrinsic to the setting of the movie and heighten the emotion”.

Rahman also took this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and encouragement to the film.
