Director Dharma Teja, who is currently working on Ravi Teja's Power, has slammed the media for twisting the issue of Chiranjeevi jumping the queue at the polling booth in Jubilee Hills on April 30 and depicting him as a villain. The filmmaker claims that he was present there at the moment when an NRI guy obstructed Chiru. He says that the Megastar was standing in the queue, but media men and the people standing around him forced him to skip the line.
In a statement to IdleBrain, Teja said, "Chiranjeevi came to polling booth along with his family and stood in the queue. It was the other people in queue and the media who has requested Chiranjeevi to go ahead and vote. When Chiranjeevi along with his family moved from the queue and a NRI guy has questioned him. Chiru has amicably answered the NRI and came back and stood in the queue."
Teja blasted the media for blowing the issue out of the proportion. The director added, "The queue also consisted on many VIPs and politicians. But Chiranjeevi has gone ahead only because others requested him to do so and returned to queue after somebody objected to it. Media has shown the entire episode in magnifying glass and tried to show Chiranjeevi as villain which is not!"
