After Jaya TV decided to air Arrambam on the special day, Sun TV announced that their channel will telecast his this-year release Veeram. The move by the Maran's family-owned channel surprised, as they are not airing Jilla, the satellite rights that they bought for a good price.

The genral trend followed by most channels are if one channel is airing Ajith's movie, its rival chooses Vijay's films. It is simply because they are considered as on-screen rivals. The actors' fans leave no opportunity to ensure that their favourite hero wins. As a result, TV channels use this sentiment to garner maximum TRPs.
