Kamal Haasan and Vairamuthu to be conferred Padma Bhushan today

The Central Government recently conferred Kamal Haasan and Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Awards. The Hon’ble President of India, Pranab Mukherji will officially honour both the veterans with the Padma Bhushan today evening in a grand event in Delhi.

In reaction to the honour, Kamal Haasan recently responded saying, “I don't consider this an honour for the work I have already done. This would be an impetus to do more good work. Perhaps only then would I deserve it.”

Padma Shri Santosh Sivan, Padma Shri Vidya Balan and Padma Bhushan Vinayakaram will also be honored today.
