The advance bookings for Kochadaiiyaan have opened in many Chennai city theaters and also in the outskirts. There is just one word to describe the advance bookings - phenomenal.
We all know Rajini's pull among the audience in all the age groups and in all classes, and the response at the ticket windows for Kochadaiiyaan just reiterates the same.
Complexes like Sathyam (Escape, S2 and Luxe included) and Abirami have already sold out a major chunk of the tickets for the first weekend, despite screening the movie in multiple screens and shows. Both the complexes will be screening the 3D version of the movie, with Sathyam having superior audio technologies as an add-on. Other city multiplexes such as Inox and PVR are yet to open bookings and fans would be eagerly waiting to block their tickets.
There are 67 shows for Kochadaiiyaan (in the 2D, 3D and Auro 3D formats) in Mayajaal on each day over the first weekend, and most of them are already sold out. More shows may be added here based on the demand for tickets.
Some of the other older single screens and complexes in the city such as Albert, AVM, Raj, Bharath, Maharani, Woodlands and Shanti are also selling tickets like hot cakes for the first weekend.
On the whole, Rajini Mania is well and truly in effect. The King returns.
